Hickory Nut Tree

I mentioned that my oak trees don’t usually get bright fall colors.  I do have hickory nut trees.  They have the most brilliant yellow leaves in the fall.

I just love them!  They are totally terrific trees turning colors!  Visit Jenny Matlock for more T posts.  Also linking to Thankful Thursday, This and That Thursday, and Thursday Favorite Things.

I love to see the color change in the trees as autumn progresses. The reds, yellows and orange always make me think of a last hurrah before the winter comes. beautiful photos.

I have two very tall Hickory nut trees that stand right outside
my deck. They drop stuff 4 times a year and right now every
night the nuts fall on my roof and are sure loud. I’m looking
into having them removed but the city will not allow me to
cut them down unless they are hurting my house… but they
sure are pretty and provide lots of shade… great photos!
    Happy Fall

I tend to have acorns falling on my roof all fall, but there aren’t really any this year because of the drought. Guess the squirrels will really be up on the deck eating dog food all winter.

    Hickory nuts.

    Oh.

It’s been years since I’ve eaten a hickory nut.

    Or seen those glorious leaves.

This was a wonderful memory for me.

Thank you for sharing this terrific link for the letter ‘T’.

I am going to bed and dream of lovely hickory trees and the bitter-sweet crunch of those nuts in butter cookies.

    Thank you, thank you!

    A++++

I’m glad I could bring back some good memories. I do love the hickory nuts for baking. The squirrels were quick to snatch up all the nuts this year. :-)
