A Walk Down the Hill

It seems like a beautiful fall day would be the perfect time to take a walk down the hill.  It is beautiful!

It’s just that everything I see makes me think allergen.  Then I sneeze.

Then I get a sinus headache.

Seriously, how can all this beauty be so bad for me?

I’m going to blame it on the summer’s drought.  After all that has been my scapegoat for everything since about Feb. 27th.

Really, the seed dealer sent out an e-mail telling about a black mildew growing on the corn that all the combining is stirring up and sending into the air.

I did enjoy the beauty of the woodlot south of my property.  (This is where the goats like to try and escape to.)

Just as I arrived, I heard a car behind me.

Every time a car goes past it stirs up dust that just hangs in the air.

As if the allergens weren’t enough, I also picked up some of these little things on my sock.

I tried pulling them off with my bare fingers, but that just resulted in some unladylike comments and loss of blood.  Yep, the pliers were a necessity.

With all the horrible things attacking me, this is my new companion whenever I’m outside for more than a minute.

Is it winter yet?

Ahhhh! Fuzzies, fluffies, stickies, dusties! You make me look at the world in a whole new way. I’m thankful I don’t have any noticeable allergies.

We’ve been sniffling and sneezing here too. I’m telling ya’, try some homeopathic allergy or sinus medication, the stuff really, really works without any side effects.
You managed to get some beautiful pictures in between the dust and the sneezing! :)
Does the dust mask really help Mr. Pumpkin? LOL!!

EWWWW….I hate those spiky balls. One time as a kid I was running around without shoes (I still do that) and I got caught in a patch of those evil things. That was a very bad thing…. :)

Love the pictures, especially Mr. Pumpkin. I’ve been reading about local honey for allergy relief. It makes sense.

It does, but when I was little, I couldn’t eat honey because it would upset my stomach because of the allergy issues. Maybe I should try it again.

Ugh, we had that black mildew on our corn too. It was several weeks of the worst allergies I’ve had all year. Just awful. And the combines at corn harvest were completely enveloped in a black cloud. Looking forward to winter here too. Just want this strange bizarre year to end and hoping for a better one next year.

    Hi Theresa~

Oh it must be a challenge to want to be out taking these glorious pictures and yet being plagued with allergies. Does local honey help? It’s the only thing that helps
    me.

Believe it or not, I had an allergy to honey when I was young. I haven’t tried it in years, but that is a good idea. Allergies and fences are the bane of my existence.

So sorry you have to deal with the allergies! However, it is beautiful nonetheless. :) That lot of trees does look yummy, by the way.
