Fall Flowers

The You Capture challenge for today is Flowers.  Boy, it was a challenge this drought plagued fall.  I do have some small sunflowers still blooming.

A couple of hostas still have blossoms.

I hit the motherload with this. I don’t know what it is, but the bees just loved these little flowers!

Maybe I’ll quit pulling them as weeds.

Oh I love the black background on that purple one, and the bees! I had a hard enough time finding flowers, let alone little bees! Great job, they are so pretty :)

Very nice sunflowers – and (predictably for me) I like the stray beetle that has popped up in the edge of the flower.

The flight back was a real drag – and a late night Polish wedding was not the best way to recover from jet lag!

Those bugs truly love the flowers. It would be hard to get a picture without one popping up. Sounds like you needed another day off just to recover!

Sunflowers, hostas and,.. asters. There are so many varieties of asters that I haven’t a clue as to which ones they are. They must be loaded with pollen as bees LOVE them!

The bees were just swarming everywhere around them. I’m certainly going to leave them from now on. Glad you could tell me what they are. :-)

I know what you mean….unless you waste tons of water, the blooms almost everywhere are drying up…but you seem to have found some real beauties….

It’s hard to tell, but the sunflowers are tiny, and the hostas don’t have near as many blossoms as usual. I’m glad to have a few flowers around yet.

I love the sunflower shots. I love them and I haven’t seen any around here. I’m impressed that you have hostas in bloom still…my blooms died out long ago. I wonder now if I am doing something wrong. Great processing on the flowers with the bees!

This has been such a weird year weatherwise. My hostas didn’t have blooms during the worst of the heat and drought, and now that we’ve had a bit of rain, they finally bloomed.

It does look like some sort of aster, doesn’t it? Love all the shots! You are so talented. Sadly we aren’t seeing many bees now, since the Fireweed and Lavender are no longer in bloom. :(

Evidently I got so caught up with your goat stories and pictures that I didn’t appreciate what a gifted photographer you are. Although I like the busy bee and flower pics, the sunflowers and hosta blooms really showcased your talent. Nice!!!

I consider that quite the compliment! I really do love photographing the world around me on the farm. I’ve just recently started editing them.
