At You Capture today, the challenge is to post one picture from each day of this past week. Here’s my week in review.
Monday: I found my white peahen sitting on a nest. We’ll have one more chance to hatch babies this year. She has five eggs under her, and another hen has a nest with three right behind her. She just hasn’t started sitting yet.
Tuesday: I took some pictures of the soap I made for my son to test on mechanic’s grease. It is cornmeal with lemongrass essential oil. I still need a name for it. Suggestions?
Wednesday: Another view of the cornfield from one of my many walks checking it out. Every time I go out there, I am more and more grateful for the condition of the field.
Thursday: This one is from a walk in the Back Forty.
Friday: We went to the farmer’s market and set up a table with soaps and other items. It was a lot of fun, and we are planning on going back. They have the market through the first week of October.
Saturday: My mom shared a watermelon with me.
Sunday: Bob has a way of making himself cozy.
Overall I’d say it was a pretty good week. As a bonus, I had some tomatoes given to me to can, and I got nine pints. That’s certainly a good thing!

Hi Teresa, fabulous photos as always. For your new soap, how about Thai Corncake. or if a more manly name is needed
Scrub Bar
Aug 19, 2012 @ 19:10:15
I do like scrub bar. It was requested by my son the mechanic, so I might want to stay kind of manly.

glad the farmer’s market went well – at least well enough you want to do it again! good luck to the pea hens! seems late, but they should know what they’re in for!

It is a bit late. If they hatch any, I’ll probably have to have a heat lamp in there for them for a while. The market was fun, but it was kind of slow due to the state fair and high school football. At least I can start getting the name out there.

Loved reliving your week!

It was a good one!

Fantastic week you’ve captured. That soap needs the word “scrub” in it- but I am terrible at naming things.
Aug 20, 2012 @ 06:42:22
That does seem to be the key word.

It was fun seeing your week in pictures! Glad the Farmers’ Market looks promising, it would be a good outlet for your soap. Good deal on the tomatoes too!

Tomatoes being given to me is a very good thing this year. I do hope the market works out Of course, once someone tries it, they can always order more from my online market if the market is done for the year.

Soap – You are braver than I am, I could never make soap
And that watermelon sure looks good!!
Aug 20, 2012 @ 19:08:03
I was petrified to make soap, but I made sure to take the safety precautions, and I love it! It’s a lot of fun.

Cool pictures! I love the way you captured the sunlight through the corn. Neat captures of the butterfly and Bob. Watermelon is one of the great pleasures of summer.

I was happy with how the corn one turned out. It really is beautiful here, and I always try to capture that.

I love this ‘photo a day’ challenge. All the posts are so interesting and yours is no exception. From the peahen to the Bob and everything in between, all pictures are great!
