Hummingbird

I will see an occasional hummingbird around my place, but they never sit still long enough for me to get  a picture.  I took my dad up on his offer to come visit and take pictures at his house.

He has a lot of well fed hummingbirds around his place.

Hummingbirds are so hard to find at our house…only once did I see one at my butterfly bush, and at first I thought it was a large bee!

Good excuse to spend some time with pops- and you got some great shots. I am still trying to get mine to sit still for me…HA!

Aren’t they fun? I just love the little pair I have nesting in the crepe myrtle in my back yard. You did good to get so many different poses from them. :)

Love watching the humming birds. Mine chase each other. They will not feed at the feeder together. Your photos are amazing showing the little bird so clearly and close up.

Do you know why humming birds hum?

Because they don’t know the words!

    Arr! Arr! Arr! :D

    (nice shots-especially the one in-flight!)

I’m horrible about filling the feeders I do have. Then I need to wash all the kitty nose prints off the window so I can focus through it. I really do need to though.

Lovely shots, especially the second to last pic. We don’t have hummingbirds here. Maybe that’s why the seem so magical to me.

Hummingbirds are the little jewels of the bird family, aren’t they? Especially like the pic of this one in flight. Dad needs to keep on doing whatever he does to keep these welcome guests visiting.

I see them occasionally, but without a feeder for them, they never stick around long enough for me to get the camera. I definitely want a feeder by next summer.
