When I came outside last night Maxine and Norma Jean were in the lane.
It looks like it was supper time.
Norma is getting quite big to be nursing. This meal went on for quite some time, and I must say that Norma Jean is a messy eater. All that white stuff on the ground below Norma Jean’s neck is slopped milk.
Then she looked at me like I was interfering with her meal.
Remember she’s an all black calf.
I’m thinking she might seriously need a bath after this meal.
I’ve never seen a calf so covered in milk when they nurse. Usually they just get a cute little milk mustache.

You’re right…she’s messy! She needs to learn some table manners!
Aug 03, 2012 @ 15:29:13
You’d think she was born in a barn!

I think she has my messy eaters all beat! I laughed so hard! Cute though!
Aug 03, 2012 @ 15:29:30
She’s got to have a whole pint smeared on her face.
Aug 03, 2012 @ 15:25:12
What a great “Got milk?” commercial! Good campaign for raw milk, too
xo
Aug 03, 2012 @ 15:29:54
I thought about putting that on one of the pictures! Her’s isn’t very neat though.
Aug 03, 2012 @ 15:26:00
that is just a mess! wow, she’s grown!
Aug 03, 2012 @ 15:30:35
Maxine is a great mom. Her calves have an incredible rate of gain because of all that milk she makes. Just imagine if Norma Jean actually ate all of it instead of wearing it.
Aug 03, 2012 @ 16:06:56
Hee hee hee. Norma Jean is looking a lot more adult in the face now. She made me want a glass of milk!
Aug 03, 2012 @ 16:33:01
It’s really amazing how quickly they grow up.
Soon she’ll be leaving the farm.
Aug 03, 2012 @ 16:55:39

Teresa…. Oh your cows are beautiful.. I can’t imagine having cows.. I have 3 kids and 4 fur babies… although I would absolutely love a pot belly pig one day- don’t ask me why but I do.. lol! Following!
Thank you so much for joining us in Thursdays Favorite Things Blog Hop! With His grace, wishing you peace and many blessings to you and yours… Carla
Aug 03, 2012 @ 19:50:02
Thank you so much. Pigs are one of the few critters I don’t have running around. I do think I’d prefer a pot-bellied pig to any other kind.
Aug 03, 2012 @ 21:20:35
Yikes! She really does get into it, doesn’t she? Can it be cute and gross at the same time? LOL

Lol, how sweet this black face covered with milk ! She really looks almost as big as her mother, and still thinks she is a baby, just like some human baby do !
Aug 04, 2012 @ 08:13:36
She’ll get weaned in another month. Until then, I’m sure she’ll be the baby.
