Their First Bath

The goslings are really getting big.  I promise, I do put clean water in the pools every day, but it doesn’t take long to look dirty.

Note that there is plenty of parent supervision here.

There’s also a couple of jealous ones that haven’t quite figured out how to get in there yet.

If goslings told fish tales:  ”I tell you it was this big.”

“Oh yeah.  Well mine was this big.”

It seems like just yesterday that they were tiny little fuzzy fluffballs.

they are cute! i believe you on the water – even the dog’s pool gets filthy looking within a day or two and they’re not even in it!

It’s so hot, it has that green algae on the sides that makes the water look dirty. You just can’t keep them clean in weather like this.

They are so cute. When they grow up geese can be mean, it seems!

So darn sweet. My heart went out to the little ones looking in. Enjoyed your narrative on the fish story. Too cute!

This post made me smile. BIG :) Not much cuter than li’l goslings.. especially taking their first bath! Goose water is *never* clean, even five minutes after cleaning/refilling! I think my goose couple has a purely platonic relationship (Greta is an old lady.. don’t know if that’s the reason). But, I sure miss babies! Thanks for sharing yours ♥

It was just cleaned really. There’s so much green stuff stuck to the sides, but it’s so hot I can’t keep it off. Poor kids, but they really look like they don’t mind. You can’t hardly find those two out of the pool anymore.

Love goslings. We only see the wild ones here and the parents keep you at a distance. They make great parents and will protect the babies of other geese if they need to. Geese have a wonderful culture they live by. Thanks for the darling pictures …

How wonderful! I’ve raised laying hens and for years I did wild duck rehab, raising hundreds of ducklings. It was fun to see your goslings in their pool – brought back memories of the messy fun!

Oh I know about that dirty water thing first hand too! I have 4 ducks and am completely amazed with how quickly they can make a perfectly clean pool dirty. They’ve got it down to a science, really.
