The Circle of Life

Living on the farm, I am quite aware of the circle of life.  I get to enjoy the beautiful miracle of life.  The kids are amazing to watch.  The most recent kids are Muffin’s twins.

They still don’t have names, so feel free to suggest.

They are both little girls.

My most recent bottle kid is Cindy Lou.  She has come with a little bit of a challenge.

She has diarrhea and has had her entire life.

She’s growing and filling out and strong and plays, but I must give her the occasional good cleaning.

She does not like this, but she looks much better after the cleanup.

The opposite side of the circle is one that I don’t care to see as much.  I’m afraid as my herd grows older, I will see more of the consequences of retiring my girls and letting them live their lives out on the farm.  Cutie is showing her age.

Now Millie is ill.

She has been raising a kid, and he’s a big healthy kid.

It has however gotten her a bit run down.  Now she’s sick.  She’s had care from the vet, and we’re continuing her treatment, but at 8 1/2 the vet thought she was kind of old.  I’ve never thought of her as old, but I guess some of my girls are getting up there in age.
