The Canada geese in the Back Forty seemed to be entertaining themselves by flying and playing in the bottoms this weekend. Sorry for the poor picture quality, but it was very hazy and I was quite a ways from them.
Can you find the goose in the picture below that landed?

Don’t look on the ground for the goose.
Look on top of the fallen tree.

Looks like somebody’s losing their balance up there.
Now it’s time to fly back to the other end of the bottoms.
Just a little bit of goosey fun.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos at Wordless Wednesday at Create With Joy – I actuallly like the hazy quality and the colors!
Have a wonderful week!

I had to adjust them some because it was so hazy that day. At least you can see that they are geese.
May 01, 2012 @ 18:46:11
very cool that they’re sticking around. yup, i bet they’re your youngsters.
May 01, 2012 @ 19:13:17
The last pair that came are a lot younger. Three of the older geese might be. Who knows…

I especially like how the tree looks purple in the first two pictures. Thanks for stopping by.

I really just was trying to lighten it and get rid of the haze so you see the geese.
May 01, 2012 @ 21:08:33
how fun to see!
May 01, 2012 @ 21:14:34
I really have enjoyed them living back there this spring. I hope they stay and come back.
May 01, 2012 @ 21:13:55
It looks like they’re playing King of the Mountain on that tree!
May 01, 2012 @ 21:14:52
I’ve never seen one sitting up on a tree like that before!
May 02, 2012 @ 02:09:00
Nice!
May 02, 2012 @ 06:25:58
Thanks. It’s fun to watch them.

We have tons of Canada geese here (in Colorado). Sometimes too many! You got some great shots of them in flight.
May 02, 2012 @ 06:25:29
We have a lot of them in Iowa too, but there are six that are living down in my pasture. It’s really neat to see them and interact (from a distance) on a daily basis.

Must be delightful to see…. great captures, Teresa!
May 02, 2012 @ 07:10:20
Thanks. I really have enjoyed watching them.

It must be fun to watch them! You don’t often see them just flying around, seeming to have fun. Your pasture looks like a lovely, welcoming place for them.
May 02, 2012 @ 09:14:53
I’m glad they seem to be enjoying it. I can’t come up with anything but playing around for their little flight.

I am so grateful that the geese have stayed in the lake across the road this year. When they decide to nest by the ponds we end up with a terrible mess by the time the goslings are ready to leave. It’s like having a pack of dogs!
May 02, 2012 @ 09:31:24
They are messy, but the back forty is big enough to handle a few geese.
May 02, 2012 @ 12:06:11
Nice shots!!

You are too kind. It was horrible conditions for taking distant pictures
May 02, 2012 @ 16:15:15
It looks like they were having fun!
May 02, 2012 @ 16:58:21
They really seemed to be just playing around.
I love seeing them cavort down there.
May 02, 2012 @ 19:24:28
They sure are having a great time…
May 02, 2012 @ 19:39:30
They do seem to be quite happy back there.

Scientifically they are flowers. Growing where they aren’t wanted makes them weeds.
