I heard a little heads-up on the radio about the tulips in Pella. If you want to see them, go within the next couple weeks! They will be gone by the normal Tulip Time days. And the tulips at Reiman Gardens {on campus} are beginning to bloom!
Thanks for the tip to remove email address….now I can leave comments again. :)

Beautiful flowers. I am seeing so many colorful blooms I am wondering what I am doing wrong in my yard. Maybe I need to actually go plant something.

Wow, you have quite a few varieties of tulips – all so beautiful! The colors are striking. I hope to have a few if the bunnies stop nibbling :-)

Thanks. There used to be more different ones, but they were so deep in the ground I couldn’t dig them up, and I think they’ve gotten too deep to grow anymore.

OOPS! Sent the message too soon and accidentally figured out how to post a comment on your blog… or at least I think I did.

Your tulips still make me wish mine were blooming now and I’m still a tad jealous. :) )

WordPress did make a change, so I changed my settings, and you can leave the comment without an e-mail address. I was really wondering why everyone quit commenting. This is way early compared to when they are supposed to be blooming.

The Goatmother has been to Pella! Awesome. Your Tulips are beautiful! There was an article that Pella was spraying their Tulips with Rye Whiskey in an effort to keep them from blooming too soon from the unseasonably warm weather this year. Hope it works and though don’t just get drunk Tulips. :)

I don’t know about the whiskey, but I can tell you that the tulips in Pella will not be around at festival time. They are in their glory right now!

Your photos are fabulous. Our tulips haven’t come up yet–just daffodils and forsythia so far. I’m hoping the deer and squirrels haven’t pulled up all the bulbs! Linda

I LOVE Tulips! My favorite time of year is when they are blooming. If they can survive the deer, that should be in about a week!

I have three bouquets of supermarket tulips in the house, but none blooming outside yet. We were hit by terrible hail yesterday and all the daffodils are battered – what a spring!

What a shame. Hope the daffodils were the only hail damage. Spring storms can be relentless. I just wish we’d get some more rain.
