When I got up this morning, I had one major goal for the day. I wanted to get all this popcorn out of the Ranger.
This was very important to me because I haven’t been able to put my car in the garage (such as it is), and I don’t like scraping frost off the windshield in the morning.
That means I started husking in the morning. Eventually, late in the afternoon, my mom joined me.
It’s amazing how much faster it goes with another person. It seems like it takes half as long to get it done.
After husking, I ended up with several tubs of husks. You might wonder what I did with all those husks.
I had some animals anxious to help dispose of the husks.
They really enjoyed helping me with this.
All the goats want a piece of the action!
Even the geese enjoyed digging through the husks.
There was plenty for everyone.
At the end of the day, I got to put my car in the garage, and my house is full of cobs of popcorn waiting to be shelled. I was also treated to a dramatic sunset.
